  • Christmas Eve.. and here I am typing up this junk and thinking about packing. I suppose I should. Tomorrow we catch up with the football team and head for the Houston Bowl, to be played at noon, Friday December 27 in Reliant Stadium. We're going to stomp the living daylights out of Southern Miss and show them what we should've dealt them last year, so be ready to kick some ass . . . But first things first, we still have to trudge around in the snow and practice in Stillwater. Travel safely, I'm sure some smaller towns haven't done jack squat to their roads... and wear your frigging seat belts for gods sake, ask Hogie. Merry TubaChristmas!

  • So that's that. OSU 38 OU 28. All the idiot sportscasters that didn't give us a chance (AGAIN) can eat their shorts (AGAIN.) Due to our bending over and raping of OU, we are going to get to go to a bowl that doesn't suck! The two most likely destinations as of right now are the Houston Bowl and the Tangerine Bowl. The Alamo bowl is out there somwhere, as is the Independence bowl according to a few sources, but it's not very likely we'll go to either. Predictions on FoxSports.com and ESPN.com point to us going to the Tangerine Bowl on December 23, which is fine with me! I'll take warm weather of some sort over Boise, Idaho any day though. We should find out where we are going for sure this Sunday, and for those of you who aren't keeping up.. make your way to the Seretean at 8pm this Tuesday of finals week to find out like the rest of us!

  • Well despite a disappointing loss to Texas Tech (who beat Texas on Saturday), our pokes aren't so low as to lose to Kansas, destroying the Jayhawks 55-20. This week we can look forward to handing out another pounding as Baylor comes to Stillwater on their endless quest to lose like no team has lost before. As long as we don't have too many people with the plague that's going around, we should at least have enough to march what looks like a checker board of missing people around on the field, somewhat representing a Sousa march show. Enjoy!

  • After somehow managing to hold off a Texas A&M comeback to win 28-23 last Saturday, our pokes and part of the band now head to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech... that and some 72oz steaks. All we can hope is that our offense doesn't go into a coma for an entire half of the game like they have lately. And on that note... GO POKES!

  • The random outcomes of our football games contiunue! This time we sent Nebraska fans packing after their team bit the dust 24-21at the hands of the Cowboys and Josh Fields, who (correct me if I am wrong), threw no interceptions for the first time this season! If it isn't the first time, it is at least a rare occurence. Fans stormed the field and promptly demolished both goal posts, the east one snapping off from the base leaving a nice stump. Nothing like drunken fans riding a goal post around the stadium to cheer up your Saturday afternoon.

  • Well, after we came close to beating Texas 15-17, we thought we had a chance against Kansas State. Apparently not, as we got destroyed 44-9. This was our full band trip, but the only trips we have enjoyed a win at the past several years are Baylor and OU, so who cares, right? Anyway, we managed to snap a couple pictures of some of our antics on the bus on the way back, but that's all. I'll just have to tell you personally that bus jousting was again a success. We play Nebraska here in Stillwater this Saturday, so come support your OSU football team!

  • After the football team destroyed SMU last weekend, both they and the band get a well earned break this weekend before facing Texas on October 5th in Austin, starting with no rehearsal Friday. Rookies, feel free to show up. As for the rest of us, we'll be seeing you Monday..

  • Just a little reminder .. don't forget to bring your rain gear to rehearsal tomorrow so they can have it ready for us if it rains Saturday. While I doubt it would matter if you forgot it and brought it Saturday instead, it never hurts to actually do something on time for a change. As of right now, there is a 40% chance of rain for our game versus UCLA, so be reasonably prepared to get wet and possibly be struck by lightning. In the event that you are struck by lightning, promptly fall over and flop around like a fish. After a few minutes people will eventually realize that this is probably not the new visual for Play that Funky Music, and will gladly come to your assistance.

  • I think the site finally has a format I'm somewhat pleased with, so here it is. I'd like to use the logo Dobbs is going to use on the upcoming OSTL t-shirt, as that would unify things nicely.
  • How bout them Cowboys? A nice high scoring game as we beat the UNI Panthers 45-10 was reassuring since we face UCLA this Saturday here at Lewis Field. It should be even more of a blast this week as we'll have the Alumni Band performing with us. See everyone at practice...

  • The website is finally taking shape! Seeing as I have quite a few exams over the coming days, as I'm sure everyone else does, it is likely to stay in its present condition for a while. If you have any bright ideas for content, e-mail me at ericrp@okstate.edu so I can tell you how much they suck. No, really.
